It’s 1,000+ episodes of good moments buried under filler, pacing ****, and the world's longest running recap segments. Luffy is a great protagonist for a 200-episode show — not a 25-year epic. The “power of friendship” speeches hit less when they’re surrounded by 45 minutes of flashbacks to the same scene from last week. People say the worldbuilding is ***-tier — but a zany hat and a tragic backstory for every background character doesn’t make a world deep. It just makes it crowded. The only thing longer than the journey to Raftel is the wait for Oda to wrap it all up before 2030.
