Patterned after Japanese art and silk screens, Taro, The Dragon Boy is an animated feature about Japanese mythology and cultures, focusing on Taro, a young boy who has to make a voyage to a distant lake to save his mother, who has been turned into a dragon.

After getting caught up in an accident, Ryou Mihara is reincarnated in the world of Phi as a water magician. Waking up in a remote forest, he sets out to achieve his ideal slow life by living off monsters and refining his magic. Unbeknownst to Ryou, decades pass without him realizing due to his hidden trait, "Eternal Youth." One day, Ryou stumbles across a shipwrecked adventurer named Abel. As Abel requests Ryou to accompany him to the town of Lune, they embark on a journey through mountains infested with monsters. Upon arriving at the town and registering as an adventurer, Ryou's powerful water magic and equipment are unlike anything anyone has ever seen before. Although his prowess piques the interest of many, Ryou is eager to begin his own adventure and hone his magic even further!

While looking for the ledgendary Mapman, the last surviving member of the Nomad Star tribe, Lipumira finds him in Tokyo. His name is Gen Tokishima and he is the only one able to get one part of the starmap hidden within the Earth. After retrieving the piece, Gen must make a decision to follow Lipumira in her foolhardy search to find the remaining pieces of the starmap or stay on Earth. He makes his decision, only to find his girlfriend has beaten him to the spaceship as she wants to come as well. Unfortunately, as Gen learns the secret of the starmap, Lipumira's sisters have plans to stop her and will stop her at any cost.

Obata Yousuke lives on Pagopago in the Fiji archipelago with his father Tetsuo, a specialist in oceanographic biology. After a storm strikes the island, Yousuke rides to the lagoon with his Jet Ski and finds a strange baby dinosaur there. He takes it to his father's laboratory and names it Coo. Coo grows and seems to be a large marine reptile (a baby plesiosaur) which lived there some 65 million years ago. But Coo soon becomes an object of interest for the French secret service, assigned to protect the nuclear interests of France in that otherwise peaceful part of the world.
